This can be performed in one of two ways:-
With IVPs shipped with software V2.0.4.0 or earlier this process has to be performed manually. The procedure is as follows:- Shutdown the IVP application and stop the IVP5000 service. Navigate to Computer Management and click on Disk Management. Select the disk/partition that contains the recordings and right click format. Change the Allocation Unit Size to 64K and tick Perform a quick format. Click OK. Care, this will delete everything (recordings etc.) on the Disk. Once the format has completed close the Computer Management Window and navigate to the root of C:\. Delete the TestGlobalIndex.gindex.event file. Reboot the DVR.
With IVPs shipped with software V2.1.0.3 or later this process can be performed automatically. The procedure is as follows:- Shutdown the IVP application, click on the start button, sellect All Programs, Viso Maintenance, IVP and click on the application IVP Maintenance. Click either the Flush Images or Reset Factory Defaults button to flush the database. Once complete please select the option to reboot the DVR.

There may be a faulty video capture card. Taking the necessary anti static precautions remove one of the video capture cards and reboot. Please repeat this process until the DVR boots.
The CPU may have moved during transit, taking the necessary anti static precautions please reseat the CPU.

Before returning the unit for repair please run the IVPDiag software on the faulty unit, found in C:\Program Files\visiOprime\IVP Client. This will retrieve pertinent information relating to an IVP server such as system configuration, Windows event logs etc. and zip them into a file that can be e-mailed to Visioprime for investigation.

After software installation you will have to unlock the software prior to use. In some instances, it will be necessary to unlock the software again if your hardware setup has changed significantly (e.g. new network interface). Click on Start, click all programs, select Visioprime and click on the LicenceManager.exe. Select the application to unlock. Select the features that you require unlocking. Click on Generate Code. A 32 character hexadecimal application code will be generated. Along with the purchase order number forward this number to Visioprime Technical Support, who will generate a unique unlock code. Enter this code into the Enter Unlock Code field. Click the Unlock button to unlock the application. Note: The unlock code is unique to your hardware and the applications that you have purchased from. It cannot be used to unlock applications on any other machine.

Shut down the DVR (briefly depressing the power switch behind the front door). Once the DVR has shut down depress the power switch again, the DVR will start up, during the initial set of POST tests continually depress the F8 to enter Safe Mode. From the Safe Mode desktop navigate to C:\ and delete the plugplaycfg.info file. Reboot the DVR. The Administrator password has now been reset to its default.

Please ensure that the Terminal Services service is running and that the IVMS user account has a password (the default password is blank)
To set a password please follow these instructions;
Click on the Windows Start button, select RUN and type control userpasswords2, click OK.
Tick the users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box.
Click on the advanced tab, click on advanced, click on the users group.
Select IVMS, right click, select password.
Click on proceed, then enter a password twice, click OK
Go back to the Users tab and select IVMS
Deselect the users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box.
Click on apply, enter the new password twice.
Click Ok, Ok

Please check that there is approximately 2.5 to 3 GB of free space on each of the recording drives.
Please check the integrity of the volume.index files found in each of the recording drives by first stopping the recording service (net stop IVP5000) and then running the MediaDBDiag.exe with the –t switch. If corrupted please rebuild the volume index by firstly deleting the volume.index files and then running the MediaDBDiag .exe application with the –r switch.
